Memphis +9½ over UTAH

10:05 PM EST. The efficient market got a hold of the #1 seeded Jazz this morning and pounded them until they couldn’t pound anymore. We’re like a broken record with that but we won’t be backing off our position that the efficient market is not efficient at all, despite what the “experts” are trying to preach. We are in the process of putting together all the data that disproves that the “market is efficient” and we’ll be sharing it with everyone at some point over the next year.

Back to the Jazz, who attempted 47 three-pointers to only 20 for Memphis in Game 1. They made only 12 of them, but Memphis made only seven of theirs. The Jazz got to the free throw line for 33 attempts vs. only 21 for Memphis. The Jazz outscored the Grizzlies by 15 points on threes, 14 points on foul shots, out-rebounded them by 8 and still lost by 3 points after trailing from gate to wire.

“Whether it was the offensive rebounds or the turnovers, they just had a lot more possessions than we did and that’s hard to overcome,” Utah coach Quin Snyder said. No kidding, guy. Heavy favorites often win big in Game 2 after a Game 1 loss but not always. Is there anything anyone has seen that says the Jazz are not destined for postseason failure. And when their “rim protector,” their “NBA defensive player of the year,” Rudy Gobert, fouls out of Game 1, at home, against a team that loves to attack the paint, we can’t help but trust, it’s more handwriting on the wall. Grizz playing with house money, they’re peaking at the right time, they’re confident and they’re dangerous. Other than being dangerous, none of that applies to the Jazz.
