Indiana +104 over Orlando

6:00 PM EST. The Magic come into this contest 9-1 ATS in their previous 10 outings, presently boasting a five-game winning streak. Figures such as these influence the market in a big way. When we factor in the narrative that the Magic are 4-1 ATS against the Pacers in their last five meetings, a play on Orlando is that much more tempting. When we factor into the sauce that Indiana comes into this game on the tail-end of back-to-backs, Orlando seems magically delicious. However, we would be not so sure to reach that conclusion.

First off, the aforementioned trends do not raise the Magic’s appeal. If anything, it lowers it because the market has overvalued Orlando. Secondly, some will fade Indiana by virtue of the Pacers coming into this game on the tail end of a back-to-back but we suspect Indiana will pick up right where it left off last night and show no rust. After all, the Pacers have only been back in action for three days and there has been no travel either. The set-up for Indiana is nothing like a gruelling end-of-season road trip where mileage is stacked up and personnel are worn thin. All of the participants in this affair have just returned from a four-month hiatus and are well-rested and refreshed. Expanding further on this premise, the Pacers certainly looked crisp in their play last night when they took a 22-point lead into the fourth quarter before they called off the dogs and won the game safely by 11.

We’ve said it a million times and it’s worth repeating that nobody can predict games. There isn’t a person out there that knows which team will get hot from three-point land. What we do know is that there is a big market reaction to the host city getting hot as a firecracker. The Pacers were a -2 point choice yesterday and now they’re an underdog. If you bet Orlando yesterday, you easily beat the closing line (gulp).
