INDIANA -8 +100 over Minnesota

7:05 PM EST. Lots of things working against the Pacers here and that is likely the reason that the price dropped from its opening price of -8½ to the current price. First, the Pacers just went into Minnesota and the two teams battled closely throughout before the Pacers narrowly escaped by five. Minnesota could have just as easily won and now they have more points to work with just two days later. Secondly, the Pacers have not covered at home since New Year’s Eve when they beat the 76ers by 18 points. The market propensity is to play the rapid revenge angle and that applies here, as Indy won and covered in Minnesota. Finally, the Pacers will head out on a five-game trip after this one, and that, too, makes the Pacers appear vulnerable.

Based on all the above, our first inclination was to take the points. We get that the T-Wolves have appeal but that is usually the right time to fade. When Minnesota loses on the road, it is often by crooked scores. Furthermore, this game is really an inconvenience for the TWolves, as it is a one-game road trip to face a non-rival foe before they have to come home and face the World Champion Raptors tomorrow night. It terms of scheduling, this is a horrible spot for the visitor and now we get the chalk at a slight discount to boot.
