7:05 PM EST. With the trade deadline come and gone, there are also a bunch of teams that bettors will avoid today until the player movement shakes out. The Pistons made a minor deal by sending Reggie Bullock to the Lakers for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk while the Knicks made a big deal last week but that dust has settled and the general consensus is that the Knicks are worse now than they were before the trade. It is a small menu tonight in both the NHL and college hoops, which leaves the NBA wide open for folks to take a shot at and you would likely be very hard pressed to find a single individual that has interest in the dog here. Why would they?

The Knicks have dropped 14 in a row. On top of that and in an era where few teams are under 100 in any game, the Knicks have failed to score triple digits in an incredible seven straight. It gets even worse. The last time this market saw the Knicks was on Tuesday night back at MSG against this very same Pistons’ squad. The Knicks would lose that game by 13 and not come close to covering the three-point spread. The game prior to that, the Knicks played the first game on the board on Super Bowl Sunday and proceeded to get beat by double-digits by the Grizzlies and once again did not come close to covering. That game was also at MSG. The New York Knickerbockers have failed to cover in four straight and in six of their last seven games with its only cover over that span occuring when they lost by nine at Charlotte as a 12-point underdog. The price absolutely looks short and as a result, the entire betting world will be on the Pistons here, who are not only coming off a 13-point win in New York but the game before, Detroit wiped out the Nuggets by 26 points. It looks like the oddsmakers are giving away money here and that’s a massive red flag to us. The more likely scenario is that the Pistons overlook the Knicks and the Knicks are thrilled to get on the road and away from the media scrutiny in New York after being home for four games and put forth an incredibly inspired effort and come in well under the number with a great chance to win it outright.
