Their goaltender has looked vulnerable at times, and Carolina was clearly the better team in the most recent game. The Hurricanes controlled large portions of play and generated plenty of offensive pressure. However, this is a team that has often struggled to convert territorial dominance into victories when the stakes are highest, and that remains a concern.

Carolina's goaltending situation is also far from settled. Frederik Andersen started the series before being replaced by Brandon Bussi, but it's difficult to argue that the change suddenly solved anything. The Hurricanes have not named a starter, and whichever direction they choose comes with questions. At this stage of the Stanley Cup Final, uncertainty in net is not where you want to be. There's an old saying in hockey that if you have two goaltenders, you really have none, and that certainly applies here.

The encouraging sign for Vegas is that the first three games were highly competitive. The Golden Knights were not outclassed, they traded punches throughout the series, and they created as many quality scoring opportunities as Carolina. If Vegas can return to that level tonight, they have an outstanding chance to win this game outright. We're not suggesting Vegas has been the better team recently, but at +135 the market is asking us to pay a premium for a Carolina team that still has major questions in goal. The price dictates the play, and we'll gladly take it.
