7:08 PM EST. Regulation only. We watched much of Florida’s 4-1 win over Boston on Wednesday night, and to say the Bruins were all over them despite the result would be an understatement. Now Boston catches the Panthers after a 3-2 overtime win in Detroit last night that saw Sergei Bobrovsky stand on his head. The Cats are still undefeated, and while you have to be lucky to be good, this looks like a vulnerable spot for the Panthers. The line says so, as an undefeated 8-0 team is an underdog to a 3-3 team. 

As for the Bruins and their pedestrian 3-3 record, they’re coming off a 3-0 blanking in Carolina, but they outshot the Hurricanes 33-23, and that surface domination was backed up by a 56.25% CorsiFor%, the Bruins also had an edge in Scoring Chances For at 61.7%, but did not pot one. It’s not just one game either, as Boston has absolutely dominated 5-on-5 play in its six games. When they lost 6-3 to Philadelphia, they outshot and out-chanced the Flyers by a wide margin (38-18 in scoring chances). Hockey is a funny game, and the team whose goaltender is on top of his game is usually the team that wins but hot or cold goalies are unpredictable. Boston is the most undervalued .500 team in the NHL right now and thus, we’ll roll the dice and hope that they don’t get unlucky. We’re confident that Boston will outplay the Panthers. Again, the line says so.
