7:08 PM EST. Regulation only. The Hurricanes are the best puck possession team in the league, but even the top clubs can have an off night. Carolina has lost three of four and was badly outplayed by the Ducks in a 2-1 loss two games ago. Carolina did cash a ticket on Sunday against the Islanders, but it was by the slimmest of margins (2-1, SO), while spotting a significant price (-180).

The Jets have been outscored 12-3 in their last two games. The two losses were to the Lightning (7-1) and Blackhawks (5-2). That opening night of the mother's trip in Chicago was surely a disappointing one. While these parents' trips often have more distractions, the players want to play well for their folks. On Sunday afternoon, the Jets badly outplayed Chicago, but ran into a hot goaltender and that was the difference in the game. If we knew who the hotter goalie was going to be, we'd have far more winners. This is now night two for the Jets with their moms on board and so they figure to be lively bunch taking back a nice price.
