7:30 PM EST. Regulation only. Just because we have  the Jets written up in this series does not mean that we are going to throw away potential profits after watching the first two games. All that stuff we said about Winnipeg coasting and waiting for the games to matter was true, but it's come back to bite them where the sun does not shine and we’re not going to ignore it. In the Western Conference Finals last season, Winnipeg let Vegas impose their will at every turn. Getting to loose pucks, winning board battles and having an edge in the net was more than enough for the Knights to send the Jets packing and these Blues have used that script to a T.  The edge in goal has been glaring for St. Louis, as Winnipeg's Connor Hellebuyck has not been able to make the big stop or any stop for that matter when his team needs it most. When asked about it, "Helly" left much to be desired, "I really don't like that question, "I'm going to remain positive here. It's only 2-0. There's a lot of hockey left to be played." Forgive us if those tired, cliched sound bites don't inspire much confidence this time of year. Head coach Paul Maurice was even trying to talk himself into a false sense of security, "I think he's gonna be great (Sunday). I truly do. That's his career. If he had an off night, he got a little snarly, and he's been good." We aren't so sure, however, as the Jets and their goaltender have not been able to flip the "switch" after letting a league-leading pace in January slip away to the No. 2 seed in the Central. Because of that complacency, those chickens have now come home to roost and the Blues are here to harvest.

If we underestimated anything, it was the true roll the Blue Notes are on after digging themselves out of the basement during the second half of the season. Unlike the Jets, this team has been flying high for months and it doesn't appear as though anything is going to stop them. Rookie netminder Jordan Binnington has overcome some off the ice issues of his own making, but that story about his offensive Tweets has already been long lost to the 24-hour sports news cycle. What makes the Blues run so far more impressive than anything else is the fact that they've racked up the goals with zero support from their specials teams, as they are 0-7 on the power play in the first two games, while they've given up two PP markers to Winnipeg. A correction is likely coming in that department and if it does, it’s goodnight Winnipeg. If it doesn’t, it’s still good night Winnipeg. The Blues have imposed their will on the Jets and now we get to retrieve our losses at a bargain price.
