3:05 PM EST. OT included. The market is going to find plenty of situational and trending reasons to back the Wild here at a small price against the Blue Notes and we’ll start with the fact that St. Louis will be playing its third game in four days and tail end of back-to-backs here. They actually played a late afternoon game in Colorado yesterday (another 3:05 PM EST start) so one could say the Blues were playing their their third game in less than four full days. That’s tough, especially when considering that the other two games took place in Arizona and Denver. Thus, when this one starts, that’s three different time zones in four days also.

The next market influence will be the the useless trend that the Wild have owned the Blues with five straight wins over them, including two this season. However, both those games were back in November and in the last game, St. Louis outshot Minnesota, 31-18. Furthermore, after losing five in a row to this inferior opponent, don’t you think that the Blue Notes will be extra motivated? Surely they’re sick of losing to this host. Besides that, there is current form and state of mind to consider and in that regard, give a massive edge to the visitor.

Clearly, the Wild are in a much better situational spot but that allows us to get the Blue Notes at a bargain. Minnesota played an exhausted Devils squad on Friday night and couldn’t hold onto a 4-1 lead while giving Corey Schneider his first win in almost two years. There are bad losses and there are devastating and embarrassing losses. Losing 5-4 in OT is not terrible on paper but trust us when we insist that Minnesota’s loss to the Devils on Friday night was as appaling. Playing its sixth game in nine days and with one of the worst records in the NHL, the Devils were down 4-1 and were skating circles around the Wild in the third period. The game before that, the Wild had a 3-1 lead after one period and blew that one too. Sickening doesn’t even come close to describing the Minnesota’s performances and at the top of the list of sickening performances is Devan Dubnyk. If there has been a worse goaltender in the league over the past month, we have not seen him. The Wild are 1-7 over their last eight and are playing on their heels.

Winning provides energy and in that regard, we couldn’t care if the Blues were playing their 10th game in 10 days here. They have won nine in a row, they’re scoring goals and when a team is going that good, they cannot wait to get back on the ice. A lack of energy, they will not suffer from here but here’s the kicker: The Blue Notes chose to go with Jake Allen in goal yesterday in Colorado instead of using the NHL’s hottest goaltender, Jordan Binnington. Binnington is the reason the Blues have caught fire. The rookie netminder is 11-1-1 with a 1.69 GAA and a .931 save percentage. Think about why the Blues used Allen in Denver and saved Billington for this one and then make your wager. The Blue Notes want this one badly.
