OT included. The Senators continue to be the league’s most disrespected team despite being competitive most of the time. Ottawa just beat Nashville. The Sens are 5-5 over their last 10 games and Craig Anderson is right in the middle of the pack in Goals Saved Above Average (GSAA) rankings. However, Anderson is ranked much higher over the past month. Anderson has faced the most shots in the NHL this year among all goaltenders but the Sens can score goals and they’re in a great position here to pick up another win. At the end of the day, the Sens are taking back too big a price here to ignore.

Enter the Devils, who played last night in Columbus and lost 2-1. That score was somewhat flattering to the Devils, as their rookie goaltender, Mackenzie Blackwood, had a helluva debut. The Devils will now turn to career backup turned #1 by default, Keith Kinkaid. Kinkaid ranks 50th out of 64 qualified goaltenders in GSAA. Furthermore, New Jersey has just one win over its last six games. They are having difficulty putting the puck in the net and they’re also having difficulty preventing goals. We could attribute that to bad luck if the underlying numbers suggested that the Devils were creating plenty of chances but or playing well defensively but neither is true, Finally, the Devils not only lost again last night but they have scored four goals in their last three games and last night lost Marcus Johansson to an injury. In the tail end of back-to-backs, the Devils are winless this season in six tries (0-4-2) and now they’re priced like they’re thriving?
