7:30 PM EST. Both the Blue Jackets and Red Wings are coming off of losses, but when the latter drops a game, the market just shrugs it off as another typical night on the ice for a team that was once the class of this league. However, Detroit is not the ragtag group it is perceived to be, as there are some really nice players on this team that nobody is talking about. Andreas Athanasiou and Tyler Bertuzzi are not yet household names, but they will be. Dylan Larkin is producing at a near point per game pace, but he too is not as highly regarded as he should be. The Wings are a tough out just about every night and that was the case again in a tight 3-2 shootout loss to red-hot Buffalo on Saturday night. We were on the Wings in that game and we didn't see anything to dissuade us from getting behind this group again here. Detroit is 6-4 in its last 10 games and aside from that 3-1 setback to the Caps (a game in which they outplayed the champs by the way), the Wings were edged out by just a goal. Any time we can take back a price with a team this feisty, we're going to give it a long look. Tonight appears to be another great opportunity against the visiting Blue Jackets.

Columbus is the biggest favorites the board today and are prices like they’re a powerhouse but that perception could not be further from the truth. The Jackets are a bottom third puck possession team, but they sit just outside the top 10 in "puck luck" or PDO, which is an advanced statistic used to measure whether or not a team is getting the bounces and Columbus most certainly is. The Blue Jackets will send out Sergei Bobrovsky to man the crease, which is just fine because he is overpriced and overrated. "Bob" ranks behind his adversary tonight in Jimmy Howard in both saver percentage and goals against average. The Blue Jackets are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Penguins, as well as splitting a home-and-home with the Maple Leafs so it might be a bit of let down to lineup with the Wings here. Regardless, Columbus is not good enough to be spotting a price this significant on the road against a team that is much better than advertised. The Wings always show up and so they are worthy of a bet here.
