9:00 PM EST. The Coyotes come into this one feeling really good about their game and where they are in the standings for the first time in a very long time. Arizona has won three of four while only allowing one goal in each of their victories over that span. In its only loss over that stretch to Winnipeg, 5-3, the Yotes analytics were stronger than Winnipeg’s. The Yotes are one of the top possession teams in the NHL and they have great goaltending. That’s a winning combination to be sure and now this undervalued squad catches the Lightning at precisely the right time.

Tampa played an intense game in Colorado on Wednesday night and emerged with a 1-0 win. Yesterday the team was in Vegas to play a late afternoon game and they survived that one too, 4-3. Prior, Tampa played two more road games in Minnesota and Chicago so this will be its fifth straight on the road, its third in four days and also the tail-end of back-to-backs. After this game, the Bolts will head back east for a couple of games in Canada at Ottawa and Montreal. This is an exhausting, early season trip and this game lands smack dab in the middle. The Coyotes are not a team that the Bolts see often and it looks like Tampa will turn to backup Louis Dominique here in goal after Andrei Vasilevskiy played in Vegas yesterday. The Bolts likely had a little fun in Vegas too yesterday, as that game started early and ended early by Vegas standards. We have to question the Bolts motivation here, as this looks like a completely dead spot for them while the Coyotes will be revved up and raring to go against an elite squad. To Arizona, this one means a lot. To Tampa, this game in the desert in the middle of an exhausting trip and after back-to-back victories, this game is nothing more than an inconvenience.
