The new look Rangers are one of the most undervalued teams in the market, but it was a familiar face who led them the past few games, as Mika Zibanejad has netted five goals in his last three games including a four-point effort over the Panthers on Tuesday night. That 5-2 win while nice on paper is a sharp contrast to the Rags 4-1 loss to the Flames prior. However, New York was the much better team, outshooting Calgary 45-26. Against the Panthers the Rangers were outshot, but won, proving once again that at the end of the day, all that matters in the NHL is goaltending.

The Blackhawks haven't done their goalies any favors, as they are one of the worst defensive teams in the league after allowing 3.7 goals per game. Chicago was able to hold the Ducks to just 25 shots the other night, but that relatively small number has been the exception and not the rule, as the Hawks have given up at least 30-shots in all but one other of their games. Chicago was poorly outshot by Tampa (55-36), Columbus (38-26) and Minnesota (46-30), but those results look much better, as they picked up three points in those games. Corey Crawford, who started the year with an injury, has played three games since returning to the lineup and although his surface stats look very appealing for the moment, the team playing in front of him will leave him out to dry eventually. The ‘Hawks are giving up the second most high dangers scoring chances in the league the only squad in front of them are the Ducks, who just happen to be the team they beat on Tuesday night. The older and weaker defensive unit in front of Crawford make the Blackhawks an easy fade target and that’s the case again today.
