Detroit was a sexy sleeper in the NFC North just a few weeks ago, but after back-to-back losses to the Seahawks and Vikings respectively, they are being written off as the same old Lions. That loss last week to the Vikings made headlines because Detroit gave up 10 sacks to the Purple People Eaters. Despite the getting pounded into the ground, the Lions were still able to own the time of possession by over 13-minutes and if not for three failed trips to the red zone, Detroit had a legit shot to win or at the very least cover that game.

The sacks the Lions gave up on Sunday are going to make them an easy target for Bears backers, as Chicago will welcome back Khalil Mack after he missed a pair of games. The Bears defense dominated in Mack's absence, but they played the Jets and Bills, who are not exactly stiff competition. Lions quarterback Matt Stafford is a huge upgrade over both Sam Darnold and Nathan Peterman, who was the biggest reason the Bears blew out Buffalo on Sunday. Believe it or not, but the Bills actually outgained the Bears, but two costly turnovers went for Chicago touchdowns in the first half and Buffalo was dead to rights down 28-0 at the break.

This line opened with Chicago as 6½-point chalk, which is a dog number and the oddsmakers got the action they wanted, as this line is now better than a converted touchdown with no signs of slowing down. With all of the attention the last two weeks revolving around the Bears defense domination, the weak performance of quarterback Mitch Trubisky has gone unnoticed. The second-year starter struggled with his throws against the Jets and put up just 220 yards, while last week against the Bills, Trubisky went for a season-low 135. Forgive us, but we cannot get into spotting points with the likes of Trubisky. This line tells us all we need to know, as the Lions have a great shot to win this game outright. However, we'll gladly take back these inflated points.
