Milwaukee +4 +100 over Indiana

8:00 PM EST. This time the team we are fading is the road favourite. Indiana beat Brooklyn on Sunday, and now the Pacers have to travel to Milwaukee on the second night of a back-to-back — their fourth game in six days (Oct 21, 23, 25, 26). Milwaukee, meanwhile, has been sitting at home since Saturday's loss in Philadelphia. The system flags the tired team, and tonight the tired team is laying points on the road. That's the whole bet in one sentence: rested home dog against a team that played yesterday.

The Haliburton question is what makes this more than just a schedule play. He said after Sunday's game that he'll play the back-to-back — 24 points and 10 assists against Brooklyn, his best game yet — but the Pacers' official injury report doesn't land until this afternoon, and the medical staff could still hold him out. Remember the context: he missed all of last season with a torn Achilles suffered in the 2025 Finals, and he's three games into his return. A back-to-back on a rebuilt Achilles is exactly the spot where a team gets cautious, and if he's limited or sits, Indiana's offence loses its engine (21.7 points, 9.7 assists through three games). Indiana's bench is already thin — McConnell (hamstring), Sheppard and Furphy (knees), Brown and Smith all out, Zubac questionable with an ankle — so there isn't much behind the starters if the legs go.

Milwaukee's offence is not the problem, which is why the points have value. The Bucks are 0-3 but scoring 119 a game on 48.9 percent shooting and 41.5 percent from three: Tyler Herro is averaging 28 points and 6.5 assists, Jaime Jaquez Jr. 20.5 and 8.5 rebounds, Myles Turner adding 10.5 and 2.5 blocks. A team that can score like that, at home, rested, getting points against a tired, short-handed favourite — that's a cover profile. One number note: your +4 is a half-point worse than the +4.5 out there, so grab the hook if you can.

Now the other side, because it's loud. Milwaukee is 0-3 for a reason: 387 points allowed in three games, 129 a night, dead last in opponent free throws made (29.3 a game) and second-half points allowed (70.3). The Bucks have failed to cover in five straight as underdogs coming off a road loss. And Indiana is no pushover on the road — 2-0 away from home, the fastest pace in the league, 120-plus a night on the road, Siakam at 22.5 points a game, and perfect third- and fourth-quarter win percentages so far. If Haliburton goes at full strength and the Pacers dictate pace, Milwaukee's defence can get run off the floor again. But the system doesn't ask Milwaukee to be good — it asks Indiana to be tired, short-handed, and possibly without its star on a back-to-back.
