This is strictly a situational fade against the Spurs, as they are coming off back-to-back wins over a pair of Eastern powers in Milwaukee (129-114) and Boston (129-114), the latter of which came on the road on Wednesday night. In its next game, San Antonio will travel north to face the defending champion Raptors, but sandwiched in between is this stopover in Memphis.

While the Grizzlies are a fine set piece to catch the Spurs in a bad spot, it also does not hurt that they are playing pretty good ball at the moment. Memphis is in the midst of a three-game winning streak that saw them take games in both Phoenix and Los Angeles (Clippers), while also downing the Timberwolves at home on Tuesday Night. The Grizz put up 140 on the Clip Joint and believe it or not; it was not one of Kawhi Leonard's famous nights off, as the reigning Finals MVP played over 35 minutes. The Spurs were a problem for the Grizzlies in their most recent meeting, whacking them 145-115 in Memphis back on December 21. The Grizz were priced as a small dog that night, yet they’re favored here, and to us, that’s a major red flag. This is a proverbial carrot being hung by oddsmakers to entice action on the wrong side. Truth be told, the Grizz couldn't have handpicked a better spot on the Spurs' schedule for a shot at some payback. We’re anticipating a move in the Spurs direction and therefore we’ll wait until after dinner to pull the trigger on this one and we’ll update this as soon as we do.
