N.Y. Yankees -1½ +168 over Toronto

3:07 PM EST. The Yankees’ Marcus Stroman (RHP - NYY) is enjoying his new digs in the Bronx, as he’s out to a 1-1 start with 17 strikeouts in 17 innings pitched across three starts. Stroman sports a tidy 1.06 WHIP thus far, and we find him underpriced today after he took the loss in his last start versus the Marlins, and after the Yanks dropped the first two games of this series to the Blue Jays. Stroman spent much of his prime pitching in Toronto and he’s only returned to play them a couple of times since leaving, but he’s pitched well, so there could be a little extra motivation from Stroman to make sure he’s locked in.

Kevin Gausman (RHP - TOR) is fighting it right now, and while he might not admit it, dude could still be laboring from the shoulder injury that limited his spring training. By the way, that injury may have begun last season after Gausman was scratched from a mid-July start with left-side discomfort. Although he never went on IL for it, Gausman suffered from an increase in BB%, FB% that undermined his 2nd half WHIP, xERA, and overall weak numbers that all coincided with that missed turn. A second-half drop in Ks may have also been related while Gausman also posted his lowest swing and miss rate since 2018. Gausman has been knocked around in each of his three starts this season, with his last outing against the lowly Rockies lasting just 3.2 innings, which comes after his 1.1 IP start versus the Yankees on April 6. Gausman is a pitcher in trouble and he cannot be a coin flip against a Yanks side that has already embarrassed him this year.
