3:10 PM EST. The Rockies edged out the Astros 4-3 last night at Coors Field in a final that stood out like a sore thumb, as runs were being scored in bunches in ballparks around the majors. There are too many to get into, but the box scores from last night look more like a low-scoring NFL Sunday than they do for a sleepy summer night of July baseball. All that to say, it’s very unlikely that so few runs are scored at the bandbox that is Coors, as the total is 12, and the sun is shining in Denver, where it could be a high of 90F at first pitch.

Now to the starting pitchers, although they mean little here. Austin Gomber (LHP - COL) will go for the Rockies after racking up another quality start in his last outing against the Yankees, which was the third such outing in a row, with two of those turns coming before the All-Star break.

Brandon Bielak (RHP - HOU) will get the nod for the ‘Stros, and while he sports a 3.79 ERA, his xERA is an inflated 5.73, which is backed by an equally inflated 1.47 WHIP. Bielak has 46 punchouts to 23 walks in his 59.1 IP.

If you are new to this space, there is often tremendous value in playing the underdog on the reverse run line at Coors Field, as the totals are nearly always in the double digits, and so the winning side usually will win by two runs. This one fits that bill today, so we’re going to 'go with the best of it' and let the chips fall where they may.
