Detroit -1½ +203 over MINNESOTA

8:10 PM EST. Matt Manning (RHP - DET) will take his turn tonight and while we like what we've seen from the former ninth overall pick in 2016, it is not he who we have in our sights.

On most days, the Tigers are often the focus, but that is not the case today. Don't worry; you'll more than likely get your fill of them here in the second half. Instead, we will continue our attack on the Twins, especially in the lead up to Friday's trade deadline. When a team like Minnesota, which had high preseason expectations, fails so spectacularly, some heads are going to roll. Namely, highly paid underachievers. The Twinkies clubhouse is full of those, including today's starter Michael Pineda (RHP - MIN).

Pineda has been the center of trade rumours, which in itself is unsettling to any player. Most teams would rather pay a significant price for a steaming turd than give a chance to a nameless stiff or a prospect that would give them a better effort than the likes of Pineda. In addition to a locker room that will surely be on edge until the deadline passes, Pineda offers little of value. His xERA is 4.56, which is higher than his surface number. Dude's got a below average swing and miss rate (10.4%) and higher than average strand rate (76.2%). The Twinkies are a mess, they are going to get blown up and they cannot be favored in this range against an undervalued side that plays as well and as hard as the Tigers.
