8:10 PM EST. Maybe the Rangers come in here and win but they do not deserve this billing on the road, where they are a much worse team than they are at home. Texas is 25-38 away from Globe Life and it’s not like Mike Minor or Lance Lynn is starting. No, the oddsmakers have Ariel Jurado as road chalk here and that my friends is incorrect. Texas has five wins in Jurado’s 16 starts this year. He also has a rough BB/K split of 32/79 over 100 innings this season. His swing & miss rate last start was 3% and his ERA over his last five starts is 6.85 with an xERA of 5.96. 

The South Side may not win a lot of games but man, this is an enthusiastic bunch that loves to play and they feature a lot of young talent that appreciate playing at this level and the perks that come with it. The White Sox come to play every day and they’re getting peskier all the time. Chicago is 5-4 over its past nine games against Houston, the Angels and Minnesota. The last time they were at home, they took two straight over the Astronauts. They just took two out of three in Minnesota. Ross Detwiler (LHP - CHW) gets the call and that’s why Texas is favored but consider that Detwiler has a 56%/13%/31% groundball/line-drive/fly-ball rate over his 41 innings this year and that the South Side are 3-3 in his six starts. Now decide what you want to do…..play the road favorite Rangers, who have nothing but misery on the road with a big stiff starting or take the underdog host that is quietly playing some damn good baseball these days and taking down some monsters in the process. Wrong side favored.
