8:10 PM EST. Brandon Woodruff (RHP - MIL) was another pitcher that was hyped heavily in preparation for 2019 and that has delivered on that promise in the early part of 2019. His 3.82 ERA and 1.22 WHIP come with the backing of a strong array of skills: 10.4 K’s/9, 2.7 BB’s/9, 40% grounders and a 3.52 xERA. We have nothing bad to say about Woodruff but Pittsburgh got to him last week in Pittsburgh (10 hits and 6 ER in 6 IP) and the price here will dictate the play.

Rookie Davis (RHP - PIT) has been around for awhile, as he was a 14th-round pick out of Dixon (NC) H.S. back in 2011 by the Yankees. He posted 24 less-than-inspiring innings with the Reds in 2017, and now he's found his way back to the bigs with his newest organization. His primary pitches are a low-90s fastball, a high-80s slider, and a low-80s curve. 114 of his 128 career minor league appearances (and seven of his eight in the majors) have been as a starter. His career farm numbers include a 4.16 ERA, 2.4 BB’s/9 and 7.6 K’s/9 Not terrible by any stretch. Davis has worked eight innings over four appearances out the Pirates pen this season and he’s ready to take his shot at being a starter again. The Pirates have proven to be a tough out and a very live underdog all season and again, this price is too nuts to pass up on.
