Mike Foltynewicz (RHP - ATL) is returning from elbow soreness and in this home start against Colorado makes his 2019 MLB debut after logging some unimpressive innings over four rehab starts. He catches a Colorado lineup swinging it better of late. The Rockies have logged an .884 OPS over their last nine games, and that stretch includes road games. Foltynewicz is good when he’s on but as the chalk in his first start of the year, we’re not so sure he’ll be on. As mentioned, he was roughed up pretty good in four rehab starts so take that for what it’s worth. Even in the unlikely event that his outing is solid, one has to wonder if he’s on a strict pitch count too.

Jonathan Gray (RHP - COL) has been walking a couple batters too many of late, but he’s also been missing bats at a nice clip. Gray has shown solid consistency throughout his starts and in this one draws a Braves’ nine that he has held in check over past meetings (.483 OPS, .047 ISO allowed). Gray has nothing short of elite this year with 30 K’s in 32 innings, a 57% groundball rate, a 15% swing and miss rate and a great ERA/xERA split of 2.78/3.23. Gray’s slider and groundball stuff figure to serve him well in this matchup and no matter how you break it down, the Rocks hold all the value here.
