9:05 PM EST. Talk about two teams headed on different paths. The Brewers look to be making a go of it after making a splash in the trade market by picking up former Royals' third baseman Mike Moustakas and bolstering their bullpen with reliever Joakim Soria. There was a time when the Brew Crew were perennial sellers, but they are just 1½-games back of the Cubs in the NL Central. The Crew were already playing well and having a great time going to the ballpark and management has rewarded that effort.

Enter Jhoulys Chacin (RHP), who has been solid of late after winning his third straight decision on Monday. He allowed just one run on two hits and punched out a season-high nine batters over 5.2 frames against the Nationals. The 30-year-old is backed by a very good bullpen that just got a lot better with the addition of Soria. Chacin loves pitching against the Giants, as he has a lifetime ERA of 3.22 and he should consider making AT&T Park his second home. He’s 4-1 with an ERA of 2.02 over eight career starts. A rediscovery of his ground-ball stuff (51% over his last four games started) bodes well here too for Jhoulys, as this is a very pitcher-friendly park at night.

The Giants, on the other hand, have stumbled out of the break with three straight losses. That cold stretch can be traced way back, as San Francisco is batting just .226/.285/.324 (.608) over its last 19 games. The Giants have been rumored to be sellers, which has to be considered a disappointment for a locker room full of vets. The Giants are 6½-games back of the Dodgers (who just got Manny Machado) and the swim is even tougher than that, as they have both Arizona and Colorado in front of them. After a great run, it might be time to rebuild in the bay. The Giants players have to be looking around the room and wondering who’s going be there after the trade deadline.

Johnny Cueto (RHP) is one of those vets and his surface ERA of 2.76 is sure to get some looks from other teams and the Giants would be wise to get what they can before the wheels fall off the wagon. Cueto is hit/strand-removed from his 2.76 surface ERA to begin with, and the veteran right-hander goes into this home start against the Brewers in questionable form (5.34 xERA and a lot of barreled up contact over his last three starts). Cueto has an awful line against current Milwaukee batters and this Brewers’ team is at its best against righties. We get the better everything here.

PLEASE NOTE: One of the unique things about our website is that we provide write-ups every single day on every game we post. We’re not sure if everyone understands how time consuming that is and how difficult it is as well but if you do not, please try it one day and you’ll see.

That said, we’re not going to change that. We’ll have write-ups every single day like we always do but we’re also going to have another feature. You see, we post our games usually in the early afternoon or before 1:00 PM EST but there is a lot of movement and other intangibles that occur throughout the day that has influence on what we’re betting. Usually after 6:00 PM EST or thereabouts, we’re going to be adding other games that we’re betting on in a section called “add-ons” for today that we ARE NOT going to write up because it’s too time consuming and with an hour or less before the first game goes off, we just won’t have the time.

This is a feature that you will see on our home page with the other wagers and we’ll also tweet it out when our add-ons have been posted.

Please note: We have leans posted daily on Twitter and you can follow us there for leans, possible late plays or any other info we might have to pass along.
