7:05 PM EST. With Tyler Anderson (LHP), what you see is what you get. One of the most concerning trends with his game is the near 10% decline in his groundball rate over last season. Along with that, Anderson has seen an increase in his walks and a decrease in his strikeouts from 2017. Anderson was on the DL multiple times a season ago, so it's not out of line to suggest that his surgically repaired knee might not yet be 100%. Anderson posted a no-decision but went a season-high seven innings in Cincinnati in his last start. He did not allow a home run in that game, but prior to that, Anderson had been lit up for eight bombs in his six previous outings.

On the other hand, Nick Pivetta's (RHP) stock is low after he recorded his third straight loss last time out, but his xERA of 3.24 compared to his actual ERA of 7.20 in that game against the Cubs suggests he deserved a better fate. Pivetta has posted a 50% ground-ball rate over his last two starts and he's striking batters out at a double-digit clip (10.21 K/9) so far in 2018. Pivetta has lowered his walk rate to 2.42 BB/9, which is down from 3.86 last season. His BB/K split of 17/76 in 67 innings is top notch and shows that better results should be coming in the win column. Pivetta was a breakout candidate after the first month and a half of the season, but now we are able to back his elite skills set without paying a premium. Buy now before his price goes up.
