7:30 PM ET. You’re going to hear a lot of noise leading into this one. The main talking point will be that Georgia Southern’s defense doesn’t travel and that the Eagles are 0–4 away from Statesboro. That’s true — but this isn’t just another road game. This is “Deeper Than Hate,” a rivalry where records, trends, and stat sheets routinely get thrown straight out the window.

Yes, the home team has won seven of the last eight in the series, and naturally that leans toward App State. But the number tells a different story. Despite being winless on the road and lacking a marquee victory — unless you count beating Georgia State, Maine, and squeaking by Jacksonville State, all at home — Southern isn’t getting a full touchdown. That alone should raise antennas.

App State is beatable, and we’ve already seen it. They were taken down by Coastal Carolina in Boone. They survived by the skin of their teeth against FCS Lindenwood. They barely escaped Oregon State — a team that was winless against FBS competition until last week. They are just 4-4 on the year. This is not a vintage, overpowering Mountaineers squad.

Georgia Southern can absolutely give App State all it can handle, and in a rivalry this emotional, the price suggests that the Eagles are going to be extremely live. The number signals danger for the hosts. Forget the points. Georgia Southern outright.
