Nebraska -6½ over ILLINOIS

1:00 PM EST. Last year’s contest saw the Illini score early and often thanks in large part to forcing five turnovers on the way to winning by 18 points as 16.5-point underdogs. What’s interesting is not that Nebraska lost but this year the Cornhuskers' mindset is completely different.

You see, Scott Frost was supposed to deliver the goods for Nebraska. He was supposed to turn that program into a power and after two years of moulding the program, last year was supposed to be “THE YEAR”. Expectations for the ‘Huskers were through the roof to start the season and once again the Huskers failed to deliver with another miserable year.

The weight of expectation is not as high this year. Junior QB Adrian Martinez has the experience to lead a solid ground game to a nice early conference win. The Cornhuskers are much the superior team here and they figure to be much improved from last year when they were spotting -16½. This year, we’re being asked to spot 10-points less and that, my friends, is more than enough value to prompt us to move in.
