Regular readers of this section know how opposed we are to spotting road points, especially with ranked teams against unranked opponents but there are exceptions to every rule and this is one of those times. Maryland comes in off a brutal loss in Bloomington in which the Terrapins lost QB Kasim Hill for the year and saw their chances at a bowl dwindle. Subsequently, the Terps were severely limited on the offensive side of the ball and really focused on its run game and now the Terps will be forced to employ that same strategy here with a backup QB under center. Ohio State’s defense figures to have its way here against a one-dimensional offense and that should set up great field position all day long. By halftime, a worn out Terps defense will not be looking forward to the second half while an ice cold offense will be getting colder on the sidelines. On the other side of the ball, the Buckeyes have superior talent at the skill positions and that, too, figures to be on full display here. Some may suggest that the Buckeyes will be looking ahead to Michigan next week but we’re not in agreement with that, as the Buckeyes have been taking heat all season long for one uninspired effort after another and you know that’s not sitting well with Urban Meyer, who would trade his mother for a cigar just to look good. State rolls and Meyer shows no mercy.
