6:00 PM EST. We thought the Cardinal were undervalued when we backed them in a 68-63 home loss against Oregon State on Thursday night. While we ripped up that ticket, it is not going to stop us from coming right back on Stanford here. Much of what we wrote about the Cardinal the other night is still true here. Their stock is low after now losing three straight Pac-12 games, but one of those was a loss in overtime (USC), while another was a two-point decision in a game they had a 17-point lead at the half (UCLA). In that game against the Beavers, Stanford had a second-half lead but was outscored 15-3 over the final four minutes to lose by five. Based on its recent struggles, this is going to look like a really short price to back an Oregon team that is rolling, but rarely is it that easy.

The Ducks are the No. 11 team in the nation, a status they have reached on the back of four straight wins. On the surface, it looks like they are headed in one direction, while the Cardinal are going in the other. We're not going to discredit Oregon here, as they've played a tough schedule and have some nice wins. However, the streets of Vegas are lined with the discarded tickets of ranked teams spotting a small price on the road in conference. For some perspective on how Oregon's stock has risen in the last two weeks, the Ducks were a -2-point choice on the road in Washington to kick off this win streak. The Huskies are in the basement of the Pac-12 with a 2-7 record. Now, Oregon is spotting a similar number here against a much better Stanford side and that isn't right. We preach to "buy low" and "sell high" and there might not be a better example of that mantra on the board today.
