7:00 PM EST. This is a tough spot for the #13 ranked Seminoles, as they are coming off a heartbreaking 80-78 last second loss to Duke in Tallahassee on Saturday. Now, just two days later, Florida State must travel to chilly Pittsburgh to play a Panthers side that is much improved after taking the collar last season in conference play. FSU head coach Leonard Hamilton admitted his team was in a bit of a bind, "We had a very hard-fought game (Saturday) and we play again on Monday. That's extremely challenging." If Hamilton's team takes his lead tonight, the Seminoles could be in real trouble.

The Panthers have been tough to beat on their home floor this season, having won nine of their 11 home games. Pitt already has an ACC win over Louisville and gave West Virginia all it could handle. A big reason for the Panthers turnaround has been their commitment to defense that has seen their raw defensive efficiency ranking on KenPom climb from 289th in 2017-18 to 12th here in 2018-19. Pitt is also on the top 20 when it comes to its field goal percentage defense (38.7) and its 11 wins this season are already three more that it had all of last year. Nobody is going to confuse these Panthers with the top teams of a loaded ACC, but they are a tougher out than in years past. Pitt is notably 0-3 against ranked competition, but it gave #15 N.C. State a game on Saturday before dropping an 86-80 decision down in Raleigh. While the loss was no doubt disappointing, the gap between the Panthers and the rest of the ACC is tightening. This Pitt team is hungry for a signature win and it could absolutely get it here.
