Edmonton +3½  -110 over Winnipeg

8:30 PM EST. The market continues to treat Edmonton like a rebuilding team, but the Elks have looked anything but that through two weeks. They enter Winnipeg at 2-0 and have already shown they can win in different ways. In Week 1, they handled Ottawa with a balanced attack. Last week, they overcame a 13-point deficit against Montreal and found a way to finish the job in overtime. Good teams win when they don't play their best, and Edmonton did exactly that against one of the league's stronger clubs.

The engine driving this offense is Justin Rankin. Through two games, Rankin has piled up 281 rushing yards, averaging over nine yards per carry while adding significant production as a receiver. Edmonton leads the CFL in rushing offense, and that ground game creates favorable situations for quarterback Cody Fajardo, who has been efficient and largely mistake-free. Winnipeg's defensive reputation remains strong, but the Blue Bombers were gashed for 37 points in their most recent game and have not looked nearly as dominant at the point of attack as in previous seasons.

The Blue Bombers are still receiving respect from oddsmakers based on past accomplishments, but this current version has questions to answer. The defense has been vulnerable, and Edmonton's offensive line has done an excellent job opening lanes for Rankin while keeping opposing defenses off balance. If the Elks establish the run early, they can control tempo and keep Winnipeg's offense on the sideline.

Getting more than a field goal with an undefeated team that owns the league's most productive rushing attack is difficult to pass up. Edmonton has momentum, confidence, and a matchup advantage on the ground against a defense that has yet to prove it can consistently stop quality offenses. The Elks don't just have a chance to cover—they have a legitimate opportunity to leave Winnipeg with another outright victory.
