Hamilton +6 over WINNIPEG - IGF Field – Winnipeg, MB

8:30 PM EST. Winnipeg is 6-0 at home. The Tigercats will play their third straight game on the road and on the West Coast after previous games in Calgary and Edmonton respectively. Combine Winnipeg’s 6-0 home record with Hamilton’s third straight road game and it creates this inflated price but there’s more.

We’re reading and hearing that Winnipeg will have all kinds of “motivational forces” to spur them on here. First and foremost will be ridding themselves of that horrible feeling from last Saturday’s extremely disappointing 38-37 loss to Montreal in which they blew a massive lead in the 4th quarter. Another item on the list is gaining some revenge against an opponent who ended their season-opening five-game winning streak. Finally, there is no way the Blue Bombers want to give the Ticats the satisfaction of also becoming the first visiting team to win on their home turf in 2019. Frankly, all that stuff is nothing but fodder that the media writes about. They have to write about something but for us, it is something we use in our process of trying to decipher market perception. The media influences said market even in the CFL and we’re confident that we’re getting a hugely inflated number this week because of all the aforementioned narratives.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again that the Blue Bombers are frauds. They’re not good enough to go undefeated at home and they’re not good enough to be spotting this type of weight against a superior team. Furthermore, Blue Bombers coach, Mike O’Shea doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground while Hamilton’s coach, Orlondo Steinauer does. Give a massive edge in that department to the Tigercats. Winnipeg constantly gets outplayed. They have been outgained in five of its past seven games, they’ve been outgained by the Argos not once but twice this year and when they beat Edmonton 34-28 last month, they were outgained by 250 yards. In fact, the only two teams that Winnipeg has outgained over the past seven weeks was B.C. by 2 lousy yards and Saskatchewan by 38 yards. Even last week, the Als outpassed the Bombers by 245 yards.

Frankly, we have no idea why Hamilton is being so disrespected in this price. Hamilton has the best record in the CFL and it’s legit, They don’t get outgained or outplayed. The Ticats just outgained both Edmonton and Calgary the past two weeks by 134 and 67 yards respectively. When they played the Argos on Labour Day Weekend, they outgained the Boatmen by 211 yards, the same team that outplayed Winnipeg twice. Winnipeg has been finding lightning in a bottle this entire season with bounce after bounce after bounce going its way. Finally, last week, the bounces stopped and now we highly doubt that lightning will find that same bottle again. Winnipeg is not a good team but they’re wearing the suit of a good team because of their extremely misleading record. We’ll try and capitalize.
