9:00 PM EST. While laying this kind of lumber usually isn't in our wheelhouse, this game is an exception to the rule. The Eskimos stock is low after coming off a loss in B.C. last week and although we cashed a ticket in that one, it's now time to look to Edmonton to be the value play tonight. Sure, they're spotting 17 points at home, but that won't seem like much when they’re up by that much after a quarter or up by 30 at halftime.

How do the Alouettes compete here? They have a fifth-string quarterback in Antonio Pipkin starting tonight. Pipkin was cut by the Als in training camp just to give you an idea of what we're working with here. Earlier this season, the Als could play a little defense and were capable of hanging around, but that is no longer the case after they gave up quality defenders in the Johnny Manziel trade. Montreal also had a decent showing on paper last week in that 24-17 loss and cover to Ottawa, but that result flatters the Als greatly. Montreal was outgained by the Redblacks by 330 yards and lost the time of possession by 13 minutes. The Alouettes had no business covering that 14-point spread, but as always, turnovers were the real story. Let’s just go over this one more time. Ottawa turned the ball over to Manziel and the Als four times last week and Montreal still got out-gained by over 300 yards. That’s almost impossible to do. Now the fifth QB on the Alouettes totem pole will take to the road to play a team in a foul mood that possesses the best QB in the CFL. We’re suggesting that this is like one of the college games where the spread is -31 because it’s such a mismatch. No QB in this league means a ton of two and outs. That Montreal defense will be on the field the entire game gasping for air and Edmonton figures to put up some seriously crooked numbers here. The total in this game is 51. Those points have to come from somewhere.
