NHL Contest Handicapping Rules

Dec 11, 2017

All times are in UTC

2) You are required to make EXACTLY 200 plays for the season, no more, no less, to be eligible for prize money. The software will keep track of every play and show you a clear count of every participant's play count. Once you have made 200 plays for the season, you are done. It's for the regular season only and you can choose Totals and sides only. No puck lines, no regulation lines.

3) There are no minimum plays per week. Pushes on totals will not count as plays. There are no pushes on sides, as all selections include OT.

4) Live dynamic lines from Pinnacle will be used and selections can be played as soon as they are available.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE USING A FICTITIOUS BANKROLL and every play will be graded as a $100 fictitious wager. Therefore a selection of -120 will be $120 to win $100 and a selection of +120 will be $100 to win $120.

5) No scalping. In the event of plays on both sides of the game, only the first one will count. The 2nd one will be thrown out.

6) If a game is not played within 24 hours of scheduled time, or at the original venue listed, then the selection is not counted.

7) Deadline for each game will be puck drop.

8) In the event of a tie in the standings, prize money will be split evenly between the tied teams. There will be no tie-breakers.

9) Standard Las Vegas rules apply to suspended games and any other situations that aren't covered here.

10) Order of finish will be determined by money won.

11) Payouts will be determined by # of entries.

12) Plays made the last day of the season may be hidden to ensure fairness.

13) In the event of the site being down, or the Pinnacle line feed not working, posts made in the EOG thread will be accepted. Closing lines at Pinnacle will be used.

14) Multiple entries are allowed

15) The deadline to enter has not been set yet but it is forthcoming.

The Prize pool will be distributed as follows:

1st place will receive 60% (last year that was $3000.00)

2nd place will receive 30% (last year that was $1500.00)

3rd place will receive 8% (last year that was $400.00)

4th Place will receive their 100.00 entry fee back

For payment, send $100 U.S. dollars via Paypal to  YOU MUST SEND IT USING PAYMENT TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY

When you send money by Paypal or email money transfer, make sure to include your username you registered with so we know who it came from. REGISTER FIRST before sending money.

Also, when you include your username in the memo of your Paypal, make sure it is EXACTLY THE SAME as you registered for the contest. Once that is confirmed, usually, within an hour or less, you will be notified at the bottom of this page in the comments section and you will be able to freely make your selections.

You will make your picks on that site via Pinnacle's live lines and be able to view them and everyone else's selections too. You can also view the standings. However, you will not be able to make your picks until you are paid up and approved.

Bushay has been running this contest on the EOG Forum for years now and is fair and honest so there are no concerns with getting paid.

If you don't have Paypal, you can send me an email money transfer of exactly $131.00 based on Paypal's conversion rate of 1 CAD = 0.7748 USD to sherwood888@gmail.com

The security question for the email money transfer can be absolutely anything but the answer will ALWAYS be:

hockey ----- no matter what the question is.

NOTE THAT THE POOL HAS ALREADY STARTED but since one is only allowed 200 plays maximum, it does not matter if you join early or late. Many players that have participated in this contest before and are already registered won't start making picks until halfway through the season or a month in. There are different strategies you can use.

BEST OF LUCK and have a great season!
