9:37 PM EST. OT included. The Stars are saying all the right things after losing Game 1 at home as the Western Conference’s top side, with goaltender Jake Oettinger saying, "Been here before. It's not the end of the world. Not an ideal start, but everyone is going to look at our game and try to be better. It starts with me. Try to be better and go from here." Oettinger was much the reason for the Stars dropping the opener, as he stopped just 11 of 15 shots fired on him by the Golden Knights. We appreciate the sentiment, but if a team is acting like something is not a big deal, it might be a big deal.

In the aftermath of Game 1, Oettinger has been the focus of much of the discussion, as the prevailing opinion in the market is that he cannot be that bad again. To that argument, we offer up that the Golden Knights were nowhere near their best, and they still won Game 1 in the Stars' building, and it’s unlikely Vegas is going to be that flat again.

Forget the X’s and O’s and what the talking heads are saying; there is no reason to not come right back on the Golden Knights in Game 2 at an inflated price like this. The Stars have the weight of the world on their shoulders, and betting on them is betting that they are going to have a good start to this game because what happens if Vegas scores in the first two minutes again or goes up 2-0 before you can get your popcorn? The Stars already figure to be heading into this game with their sticks gripped tightly, and if they go down, the air is going to be let out of the American Airlines Center. The Golden Knights at worst are worthy of a wager based on price alone, as this is much closer to a 50/50 proposition than the odds would suggest, and at best, they are totally in the Stars' heads, and the result of this game, as they always are when these two teams play, is a foregone conclusion in favor of Vegas.
