Regulation only. If there is such a thing as a “good loss”, the Stars had one in the first game of this series. Down 2-0 before the fans were all seated, Dallas found themselves down 4-0 before the second period was 10 minutes old. At that point it would’ve been easy to throw in the towel but Dallas did not. They regrouped and made a furious rally to make it 4-3 with less than eight minutes remaining in the game. The equalizer never came but the momentum and confidence they got from that second half of Game 1 did. Now the Stars carry that into Game 2 and anyone that watched that game has to know that Dallas has a good shot to tie this series up.

Remember, it had been six years since the Stars played a playoff game. This was a completely different situation than anything these players had experienced before. By the time they got over their nerves and everything else, they were behind by four goals. Now that the first game is out of the way, Dallas figures to start much better in Game 2. What we know for sure is that this series is so close and could go either way. Another Ducks victory would be of no surprise whatsoever but we are in the business of playing value and with a take-back of better than 8/5 and with a 50% chance of winning, there is far too much value on Dallas to pass them up. The Stars are still inexperienced in playoff OT games and it’s for that reason we’re playing this one in regulation only.
