This is an inflated number based on reputation rather than reality, and we’re happy to take advantage of the overlay on a Penguins team that has quietly been playing better hockey of late.

Pittsburgh has points in three straight games and is fighting desperately to stay in the playoff hunt. Alex Nedeljkovic has been rock-solid between the pipes, posting a .936 save percentage over his past seven starts, and the Penguins are getting key contributions from players like Rickard Rakell and Kevin Hayes. While Sidney Crosby’s status is uncertain, the Penguins have shown resilience in recent games despite missing Evgeni Malkin.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are priced as if they are an elite team, but their recent results suggest otherwise. Igor Shesterkin has been leaky in net, allowing 14 goals over his past three losses, and even in their win against Boston, he faced just 17 shots. The addition of J.T. Miller has provided a boost, but the Rangers’ inconsistencies remain a concern, and they are being overvalued in this spot. The Penguins are live dogs here, and the grossly inflated price is simply too good to pass up.
