Minnesota +116 over Boston

7:00 PM ET. OT included. Boston has been wildly inconsistent, dropping back-to-back games by a combined 13-4 before bouncing back with a 6-3 win over the Rangers. Now, they face a tricky spot—playing a one-off home game before heading back on the road. That’s a classic flat spot, and we’ve seen Boston lay eggs in similar situations before. They’re also in a sandwich game, coming off an emotional battle with the Rangers and with another one on deck. How locked in will they be for Minnesota?

The Wild, meanwhile, are licking their wounds after a humiliating 6-0 loss to Ottawa. Nobody likes getting embarrassed, and you better believe they’ll come out angry. This team isn’t going to roll over. They have grit, they have effort, and they’re getting reinforcements. Jonas Brodin and Marcus Johansson should both be back, which is a boost on both ends of the ice. Losing Kirill Kaprizov hurts, but there’s still enough firepower here to make life miserable for a Boston squad that has proven to be vulnerable.

Boston’s power play finally woke up last game, but let’s not pretend that means their issues are solved. This is a team that has been relying heavily on David Pastrnak to carry the offense, and if the Wild can slow him down, the Bruins suddenly look a lot less intimidating. Their depth scoring is inconsistent, and their defense has had some ugly moments in recent games.

Minnesota is catching Boston in the perfect spot—coming off a high, looking ahead to a rematch with the Rangers, and possibly overlooking a Wild team that just got embarrassed. That’s our cue to step in.
