San Jose +170 over Seattle

10:30 PM ET. OT included. The market perception of the Seattle Kraken remains inflated, and this price is a perfect example of that. Seattle has been struggling badly, dropping four of its past five games, and now they are dealing with a goaltending crisis. Philipp Grubauer has been a disaster this season and was placed on waivers, leaving Joey Daccord as the primary option. While Daccord has been solid, he’s not a miracle worker, and Seattle’s defensive lapses have been making life difficult on their goalies all year.

Meanwhile, San Jose is coming off a gritty 2-1 win over Pittsburgh, snapping a six-game skid in the process. The Sharks have already beaten Seattle twice this season, scoring eight goals in one game and four in another. Seattle has struggled to solve San Jose’s aggressive forecheck, and with the Sharks playing loose and pressure-free hockey, they are live to complete the season sweep.

Seattle is being priced as if they are a playoff contender, but the reality is they are just four points ahead of lowly San Jose in the standings. The gap between these teams isn’t as large as the market suggests, and given Seattle’s recent struggles, San Jose is a prime value play at this price.
