The Sharks have been playing pretty well of late and have relished in the role of spoiler coming back from two goals against the Golden Nights on Sunday, while also knocking off the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets to string together a 3-1 run since April 19. Regardless of their recent success, this play has little to do with San Jose and everything to do with fading a toothless invader.

The big story out of Anaheim on Sunday was that it was the last game for Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf in an orange, gold and black uniform. The Duckies rolled out the red carpet for Getzlaf and rightfully so, sending him on his way with a custom Jeep and a luxury golf trip. The pomp and circumstance must have sucked the lifeblood out of whatever Anaheim has left because it failed to send their captain and their fans home with a quality effort. Now, with Getzlaf not even bothering to play the final two road games of the season, we have to wonder why the Ducks would bother showing up now. This is a team stumbling into the offseason, sans its leader. You know what they say about the mice when the cat's away. They f**k around. Sharks feast.
