COLUMBUS -½ +190 over N.Y. Rangers

7:08 PM EST. Regulation only. In the spirit of sticking with it, we are going to come right back on these Blue Jackets tonight after backing them in a narrow 4-3 loss to the Capitals last night. Columbus had an extended break coming into the Washington game, so one should not worry about a lack of rest. The Jackets were in that game last night until the very end and should be chomping at the bit to get back on the ice.

The Rangers have been off since Monday, having last beat Florida 4-3. Prior to that, they dropped a 6-0 decision to Calgary and games to Edmonton and Vancouver, both in overtime. Despite the positive results against the mighty Panthers, the Rangers were badly outplayed—getting outshot 45-18. In fact, the Rags have been outshot by a decent margin in five straight games going back to Halloween night—a 3-1 win over Seattle. New York is playing with fire—as they rank dead last in the league in puck possession time in the offensive end during five-on-five play. Winning is not sustainable when being outplayed every game.
