Tampa Bay -105 over FLORIDA

8:08 PM EST. It was all there for Florida in Game 1. The Panthers had a lead with just less than 10 minutes to go on home ice. Backed by a two-goal third, the Cats had all the momentum and fans in the stands, what could go wrong? Enter Brayden Point.

Yes the Lighting were on the power play, but Sergei Bobrovsky bit so hard on a fake shot/pass combo from Nikita Kucherov that his head was spinning, leaving a wide open net for Point to pot the tying goal. That brings us back to the Cats, who then gave up the ghost with just over a minute to play when Point caught them napping on a breakaway. When Florida needed a big save from their $70 million man, that puck was right in the back of the net, five-hole, no problem. For those that watched that game, it is impossible not to have liked what you saw from the Cats minus their goaltender, but that's the problem. They can't win over time unless somebody steps up. "Bob" has been banished to the bench and now 27-year-old beer league plug Chris Driedger will patrol the crease.

No offense, but when you have a $70 million "starter," and first round pick in the pipeline, why are you handing the reins to a dude whose stats should be found in the sports section of your local paper? Will Driedger give his team a much needed confidence boost? Perhaps, but there is a real possibility that the Panthers will play this game looking back over their shoulders at the net wincing at every Bolts opportunity. Even if the Panthers play their best game, their goaltending cannot be trusted. This game is not a coin flip. It is the "efficient market" that has driven this number down, as the Lightning were the favorites when this line opened. What do the likes of Vasilevskiy, Kucherov and Stamkos have to do to get some respect around here? Tampa runs deep and is heating up with the full power of its lineup. We're not laying off the Bolts at a steal of a price like this and neither should you.
