N.Y. Rangers -½ +230 over PITTSBURGH

7:05 PM EST. The Penguins are dangerous for sure with an offense that is still capable of producing at an elite level. However, the Rangers are the perfect enemy to be taking back a price like this against the Penguins because they can punch back like there’s no tomorrow. In other words, the Rags offense is scary good. 

The Rags are 1-2 out of the gate but they were flat in their opener against the Islanders. The very next night, New York would flip the script and punish the Isles. On Tuesday, the Rags lost to the Devils, 4-3 but make no mistake that the Devils were under siege for the final 30 minutes. It’s actually a small miracle that New York did not tie it. The Rangers are an exciting and very undervalued squad. They are loaded offensively, they have potentially great goaltending and their defense is finally looking better too. Adam Fox looks great, Jacob Trouba is a season vet and it looks like Tony DeAngelo will play instead of Brendan Smith, which is a big upgrade. The Rangers will face a depleted and weak Pittsburgh defense and behind that defense is Tristan Jarry, who ranks 49th out of 49 goaltenders this year in Goals Saved Above Average. Of course the Rangers can win here.
