We also like that Chicaho went into Calgary on New Year’s Eve and spoiled the party with a 5-3 win after building a 4-0 lead. Calgary would put the Blackhawks under siege in the third and nearly tied it up in the final moments before the Blackhawks buried an empty-netter to seal it.

Despite winning a lot of games lately, the Blackhawks remain one of the more beatable teams in the NHL because they give up more scoring chances than most. Chicago ranks 23rd in puck possession time in the offensive end during five-on-five-play over the past five weeks while the Flames ranks 13th over that same time frame.
