ARIZONA -½ +139 over Dallas

8:05 PM EST. Regulation only. This wager is situational. Dallas and Arizona both played last night but for Dallas, they were at home and now must travel to Arizona for its final game before the massive Winter Classic in Dallas on New Year’s Day to usher in a new decade. 

It has been said that Texas does everything bigger and better than anyone else and that is certainly the case here. The Winter Classic will be held at The Cotton Bowl, a stadium that is as remarkable as the state of Texas itself. It’s not just another hockey game. The city (state) is making it a spectacle. The massive winter fair is going on right in the middle of the mayhem. 

There is the fanfest festival in Cotton Bowl Plaza from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the State Fair of Texas Midway will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and after the game until 8 p.m. A ticket to the game is required for entry to the fan fest. There will be musical performances among dozens of other activities for fans. The point is that this is the hottest ticket ever for a Winter Classic and we’re sure that every player on the Stars roster is looking forward to it. The Stars have to deal with ticket requests and who knows what else. They’ll also be playing in front of 100,000 people including every friend and family member that can make it. Will Dallas be interested here after getting badly outplayed and winning last night? Probably not and anything that takes away focus is usually a good fade. We’ll put that to the test here.
