Colorado -½ +200 over DALLAS

7:05 PM EST. Regulation only. The Avalanche hosted Minnesota last night and lost 6-4 but it’s worth noting that prized rookie Cale Makar made his return to the Avs lineup after missing eight games. Although it’s back-to-back for Colorado, it’s not a difficult or long flight to Dallas and we’re going to trust that Dallas is going to be rusty because of the break while the Avs have a game under their belt.

It’s also important to note that the three-day holiday break is CBA-mandated, meaning no teams were allowed to play or practice. Dallas last played on the 22nd so this is five full days of rest and it’s not beneficial. You may recall the trouble teams had in their first game back when each was given a week off and although it’s not a full seven days, five days is plenty especially when you consider the time of year (big meals, some drinks and some fun too).

Even if this situation were completely equal, one would still have to give the Avs a great chance to win. Colorado is healthy, Makar and the team have a game under their belt after the layoff and the price to win in regulation is sweet.
