10:05 PM EST. The Canucks are 2-0 at home here in the early going after back to back wins over the Kings and Flyers, but those results are quite deceiving. Against L.A., J. Quick couldn't stop a puck and the Canucks won 8-2 but were outshot, 39-25 and actually lost the time of possession battle. Against Philadelphia on Saturday night, Vancouver was again outshot, this time 32-27 and the Canucks won 3-2 in a shootout. Much is being made about the Canucks home and road splits, as they are 0-2 on the road, but one could argue they have played better outside the 604. The Canucks are playing their third home game before hitting the road again and they are overpriced here after two victories that easily could have been defeats.

The Red Wings have a winning record (3-2), but those positive results have not gained them much favor in the market yet. In a Saturday night showcase on Hockey Night in Canada, the Wings dropped a 5-2 decision to the Maple Leafs in what was likely the first game many in the market watched them play this season. We liked Detroit last year because it were criminally undervalued and they came to play just about every night. As long as the Wings are being offered at prices like this against vulnerable favorites, they are going to be worthy of our consideration.
