7:05 PM EST. OT included. This one is not rocket science and will no doubt be the loudest building in the NHL tonight. In terms of regular season games, this one is as close to being like the seventh game of a playoff series as any game we’ve seen for a long time. You’re likely going to read all about how the winner of this game is going to make the playoffs while the loser will not. That’s not entirely true, as the media blows everything out of proportion because of Montreal loses, they’ll still have a great chance to make the playoffs. In any case, this is a chance for the Habs to really put the Jackets in a hole and we have to like their chances.

In terms of current form, well, it’s not really close, as Montreal continues to dominate the underlying stats. Montreal ranks first overall in Corsi For % during five-on-five play and they just seem to be getting better. Perhaps more importantly is that the Canadiens are finally starting to get some bounces, meaning that the pucks are going in and that takes a lot of pressure of an offense. Without getting deeper into boring analytic stats, just know that Montreal ranks ahead of Columbus in whatever underlying stat you can think of.

Next, we move into the goaltending department. Arguably, goaltending decides more games than anything else and in that regard, give us Carey Price over Bob 100% of the time and 100% of the time if Price had a broken arm too. We get the better team, the better goaltender and we get them at a price that is similar to the Kings and Red Wings today. Are you fu**ing kidding? Win or lose, this one is a must play.
