10:05 PM EST. Regulation only. The Kings played last night in Arizona and lost again, this time by a score of 4-2. What sticks out is that Jack Campbell was in goal for the Kings (he has outstanding numbers this year), thus, Jonathan Quick will be tonight’s goaltender for L.A. Analytically, Quick ranks 67th best out of the 68 qualified goaltenders in Goals Saved Above Average. We now get to fade the worst team in hockey to lose again in regulation and we don’t have to spot anything. In fact, we even get to take back a small tag. Playing their third game in four nights and having scored three times over their last three games, we’re thrilled to fade Dead Team Skating again. L.A. comes in motivated here because why? The only game the Kings have circled on their calendars is the final game of the year.

Suddenly, the Ducks’ energy and emotion is something we are not going to ignore. The Honda Center crowd of 16,854 was on its feet cheering the Ducks in its last game against the Canadiens. They ended up winning that game 8-2 but more importantly, it was their third win in four games and it should’ve been their fourth win in a row after that bizarre 5-4 loss to St. Louis on Wednesday.

From Adam Henrique to highly touted rookie Troy Terry, who had a career-high three assists and everyone in between, the Ducks have found some energy, youth, toughness and team chemistry since Randy Carlyle was fired on February 10th. It’s no coincidence that something similar happened in Toronto after Carlyle was fired there too. Carlyle brings guys down while Bob Murray has stepped in and lifted the black cloud that was hanging above them. The Ducks are not making the playoffs this year but that matters not, as this team has some new found energy that has them playing at a high level again and now they can’t wait to get back out there and stick it to one of their biggest rivals. Man, what a bargain this one is.
