The Caps are a bottom-5 team in every non-luck driven category that includes puck possession during five-on-five play, Scoring Chances Against and High Danger Scoring Chances Against. Washington’s goaltenders can steal this game, as they have on many occasions this season but this is a very difficult spot for what figures to be a disinterested group that will be back in the spotlight tomorrow afternoon against one of their biggest rivals. Buffalo will badly outplay the Caps so now let the chips fall where they may.
