One could surely choose to play the Senators with OT included here but when we can get 3-1 on the Kings to lose a hockey game in regulation, we’d have a hard time passing it up, even if the game was already final. What we especially like is that the Sens went into Anaheim last night and broke an eight-game losing streak. You see, one win does wonders for a teams’ psyche, thus, the Sens figure to be a bit more relaxed. What we know for sure is that the Sens can score goals while the Kings cannot score nor can they prevent.

The Kings have scored 99 goals, which is dead last in the league and it’s not even close. Most teams are in the 140 to 150 range. It would be one thing if the Kings were creating chances but not finishing but that’s not the case at all. They are second last in the league in High Danger Scoring Chances but unlike most teams, the Kings have few reliable goal scorers or finishers. L.A. has recorded 23, 23, 17 and 18 shots on net in four of its last five games. L.A.’s third and fourth lines or bottom six would not make the cut on any teams in this league while their second liners would be third and fourth liners on most teams. L.A. is heavily reliant on its #1 line that also might be the worst #1 line among all 31 teams. The Kings are not threatening and are without question the least talented team that in the league that has a greater chance of losing than they do of winning every time they take the ice. When they win, it’s not because they outplayed the opposition, it’s because they got luckier than the opposition and now they’re priced like they’re the Bruins? Da f**k is that?
